The Convalescent by Helene Schjerfbeck
The Poet Gustaf Fredrik by Gustaf Lundberg
Falling asleep?! ... Oh, you cheeky monkey!
Another one of my series of moving paintings :)
The original painting is part of the Paul and Fanny Sinebrychoff Collection and can be seen at the Sinebrychoff Art Museum in Helsinki.
Portrait of a Young Woman by Lucas Cranach, the Elder
Sitting for a painting can be so tiresome ... Might as well listen to some music while you’re at it...
It is so much fun to work on these! Paintings in motion... great stuff!
The original painting is part of the the O.W. Klinckowström Collection and can be seen at the Sinebrychoff Art Museum in Helsinki.
The Blue Painter
This is my first film of The Painter Series! It celebrates the work of Finnish painter Risto Suomi who is known for his colourful modern-day depictions of Kalevala myths and symbolism. His paintings awake a sense of longing for the past, a memory that struggles between the real and unreal.
This 3 minute film combines video with 2D animation. It is exhibited at Galleria Heino, in Helsinki Finland and has been acquired by Saastamoinen Foundation, Jenni and Antti Wihuri Foundation and the Heino Collection. To view the film (LINK), please request the password.
Shapes Form Figures
My second film of The Painter Series! It celebrates the work of Finnish painter Lauri Laine. His work explores light and shapes in undefined space. In later years, these shapes went on to form figures veiled in drapery. His style of painting has been heavily influenced by Italian Renaissance and Spanish Baroque art.
This 3.30 minute film aims to show the style evolution of his work. It is currently exhibited at Galleria Heino, in Helsinki Finland. To view the film (LINK), please request the password.
