It's a johnlock fic, and I don't really remember the details of that, but the part I do remember is there's this bit with Harry struggling with alcoholism, and she relapses and my rift has her put in rehab. And when John thanks him, mycroft says we've swapped siblings, you and I. And basically goes on to say that he doesn't have to worry abt Sherlock now since John and so he'll take care of Harry. Keep in mind I live on half an acre. Like people with less still manage to own trees but our yard is quite a bit larger than what a lot of people have.

Also I hear you can grow lemon trees inside your home??? You could try that???

wait but how do you cut of the branches/larger limbs? do you have to climb up the tree?? how do you climb a tree???? and even once you climb the tree like. where do you sit while cutting off a branch? you can’t sit on the branch you’re cutting obviously. So? Like? Clearly you’re making this all up and it’s all part of the capitalist conspiracy and I won’t be convinced otherwise??

ps when I say city i mean i grew up in dubai. a nyc level city but also in the middle of the desert.

I’ll post a picture later but no, in the case of the pear tree, I did not have to climb it. Some larger trees you can do this but for the pear tree it was not necessary. I climbed up a ladder.

You can also sit on a branch and cut it! So long as you’re not sitting on the part you’re cutting of like a cartoon character lol. We did this for the giant walnut tree we cut down.

Also I’m hoping we can replace this pear tree with a peach tree but I heard that it’s hard to grow a peach tree in my state. (Fun fact: My neighbors have a plum tree and my mom’s coworkers have pear trees of different types so we trade fruit and it’s wonderful.)

I live in a city?? We live in a house on a half acre of land. Our dead-end street is made up of several houses like this. (Altho to be fair we’re a small city, about 37,000 in population.) ((My mom is making me add that we’re a highly agricultural state lmao.))

Yes, we do have a pear tree with pears on it that then fall down! We try to pick them but some ripen faster than others so they drop to the ground and rot or get covered with ants/wasps and it’s super gross I hate picking them up. It’s the worst. Unfortunately it’s a very old tree. Even if it didn’t have core rot (so the pears that do ripen have shitty cores that make them hard to eat), it’s not actually giving us a lot of pears anymore, so it’s time to get rid of it.

Yeah, it’s possible! People cut down trees by themselves all the time! (I think you might be envisioning the tree much bigger than it is lol, I'll post a picture later.) And no, I’m not using an ax, haha, that’s adorable. :) There’s no use for an ax to cut down a tree in this day and age. Mostly just use ours to split wood anymore. I used pruners to cut all the smaller branches off, and then tomorrow I’m going to use a saw to cut off the larger limbs. Then my dad will use a chainsaw on the trunk (I am unfortunately not allowed to use a chainsaw) and then we’ll dig the stump out. It’s tedious but not actually that difficult!
