How did you go about getting your first makeup job/shoot etc. How do you put yourself out there and stuff, hoq do you promote yourself in a good way even if you havent had much expirience
Im going to answer this all separately because i keep getting way to carried away aha!
How did you go about getting your first makeup job/shoot etc.
By accident! When i was around 16/17 i thought i wanted to go into styling. Through this i used to work with a really great photographer friend and he asked me to do makeup as well! I ironically used to moan about this thinking it was something i didnt want to do and now look! All i can say is TALK to people, their are tons of people who want to create and even simply the internet is a great place for this (try facebook/modelmayhem)
How do you put yourself out there and stuff
social media! it sounds lame but why not take advantage! facebook, instagram, youtube, model mayhem. Just put yourself everywhere. Even if you start on just yourself or a friend, if your works good enough people will notice! and this is what i really plan to start doing more of in 2014.
how do you promote yourself in a good way even if you havent had much expirience
I havent had much experience profesionally at all! Talk to people, tell them youre looking to build your portfolio, try some ideas, gain experience. Borrow or have your own good quality camera! You can try out looks on yourself or a friend, photograph and build a mini online protfolio to promote yourself to get others to work for you!

alsoooo talking about my hairdresser he has been a MASSIVE help and really supportive! he actually asked makeup artists he knew for ideas, help and amy experience opportunities for me! Its a great idea to try and message local makeup artists for this just to learn more! However dont be dissapointed because some people really dont like taking other people with them/competition :p goodluck
