What inspired you to do your first Gurgle?
When you message someone you don’t follow, there is a chance that a blurb at the bottom will say “seems fishy? Mark as spam”, so I wanted to screenshot it for a meme. I later realized that messaging people and making friends would be fun, so I started sending gurgle to people.
Hey look I made a meme
Do you still have 420 followers now that a certain amount of time has gone by since the uploading of a post claiming 420 as the accurate amount of organic beings that enjoy your content?
I just now have passed 666 followers
What is your favorite meme?
You can’t ask such things that’s like asking a mother to pick her favorite child
So what did you dislike about that particular fanfiction?
Ok, so instead of ranting and raving why I hated the fic, I’m going to give y’all some tips on writing:
-When writing a fic involving humor, please try not to use memes as a crutch. Writing about how everyone wants to dab maybe be funny in the moment but its not going to hold up to the test of time.
-Don’t do PSAs in your fic. i.e. Explaining proper safe sex and all that jazz. Its pretty condescending to your readers.
-Consider and analyze the characters you’re writing. Would the character know about this or would they do this? I’m not asking you to write a 30 page essay on a fictional character, just take a minute or two and write down a couple of notes of what you know of the character.
-Headcanons are fun!! But don’t project yourself too much into them or you’ll lose sight of the characters!!
-If you’re writing in script format, or as you kids call it today “Texting”, try to make each character distinctive. This also applies to non script fics. Its important to give characters distinctive voices.
-Don’t overwhelm yourself by writing too many characters!! Its ok to just write a few!
-Be open and understanding to criticism! Especially constructive criticism! There are a lot of people who want to see you do well! (Though it is ok to filter the ruder criticism! You don’t have to put up with that!!)
That’s about it! Boy, I sure do feel better getting that off my chest!
