Eilidh and Alex

Comes home drunk: Well, they don’t live together, but I suspect he has a higher tolerance for alcohol because he’s got those nanites helping him (maybe? idk how they react to things like alcohol in his bloodstream, this is just a guess). Which means Eilidh probably gets drunk more quickly, which of course annoys the living daylights out of her XD

Tops in bed: Eilidh, and they both enjoy that arrangement.

Does the laundry: Alex, bless him, because he doesn’t have to (see: the whole “they don’t live together” thing) but he’s a generous person.

Cleans the mess: I suspect they both tolerate clutter pretty easily tbh.But if they make a mess, they probably clean it up together, and he makes her less grumpy about it by being a cheerful bastard :-p

Leaves a mess: Eilidh, probably.

Throws food at the other: BOTH OF THEM.

Spins around in the squeaky chair: Eilidh spins, but Alex pushes her at high speeds around the room, much to everyone else’s annoyance and concern.

Gets jealous easiest: I don’t think either of them get jealous, really.

Cuddles the other: Both, but Alex is more likely to fall asleep first while cuddling.

Feeds the pets: I don’t know if Alex has any pets? Eilidh is good at taking care of her fish, though. It’s not a chore they’d have to share.

Cooks the meals: NOT EILIDH. idk if Alex can cook, but I feel like they probably go for takeout more than homemade anything.

Spends the longest time getting ready: I think they’re both pretty low-maintenance, but Alex is quicker at most things when he wants to be. If they were being competitive about it, it could go either way.

And who spends the most money: I don’t think they spend much money at all, actually. When they go to soccer games and things they probably buy their own tickets and maybe split the snacks? They’re not romantic, just great pals, so for the things they do buy, there’s probably just a constant string of “whose turn is it to pay for the pizza? Is it mine? You got the Chinese last time? Or was that before the Thai that I got?” between them.

Eilidh pulled back with a frown. “See? There’s no fuckin’ reason to put my foot in the air. It doesnae just happen on its own, no matter what the fuckin’ movies say. Go on, you try it this time. I’ll kiss you like I’m Humphrey Bogart, and you stick your foot in the air and see if it feels romantic or some shite,” she suggested, kissing him again. For science.

War kept running, trying to regroup with the rest of the team a few miles back towards the beach. Merrick had just called them all back for a retreat. Somehow, the Federation had become aware of their presence and they were far to outnumbered to fight them head on. 

The sound of someone running caught War's attention, causing her to spin around and raise her rifle. However, before she could even lift her weapon, the air was knocked out of her and she was knocked to her back. Fuck did that hurt. What a bitch shot. Despite being breathless, the Alpha managed to roll back over her shoulder and get to her knees, trying to face her assailant.

War slowly raised her head as she heard an audible thump. What? War's vision was cloudy but she made out what looked to be a person stumbling on the ground. "Alex?" War slowly sat up and watched the other fumble for a second. "Alex?" He looked panicked. Something was horribly wrong. "Shit. Alex? What's wrong?" She was quickly on her feet running to the other's side. "Are you ok?"

Mostly, they laughed together. Alex made that easy, the kind of light, happy afternoons that didn’t have to mean anything, and in that freedom came to mean more than either of them ever said.

Eilidh knew it, though. When he let her see him worry about his sister, when he let her push his shirt out of the way and kiss his back, and sometimes when he just paused to look at her before he kissed her. Like he was taking a photo, a moment to hang onto when he had to go away. She always smiled for him then, so he would think of her smiling at him while he was gone.

This kiss felt like that last kind, sincere and lingering. They stood in her kitchen, and Eilidh wrapped her arms around him and spread her hands across his back. He was taller and stronger, but she wrapped him up in her arms like she wanted to protect him, and she kissed him with a smile on her face.

[Fyi, Alex /loves/ the idea of napping in the sun with Eilidh.]

[I feel like these two do a lot of sleeping when they’re together, and not just because he has a habit of falling asleep on her :-p But they both kind of go non-stop, whether they’re playing in the snow or Eilidh’s doing something ridiculous like trying outrun him or whatever it is--they wear each other out, and then they sleep. It’s adorable.]

[Oh, I love this idea. Especially since Eilidh is super awkward with kids, and it would be SO FUN to watch her try to befriend Alex’s sister :-D

More seriously, though, Eilidh really appreciates the way Alex trusts her and how much of his private life he shares with her. She knows about his insecurities, and it makes her feel special that she gets to see the real him and know things about him others don’t. Being invited to go home with him would feel like another thing he’s trusting her with <3]
