Hey, I just saw your Pansy Parkinson post and I just want to know what she does in the books that's racist and bullying? I'm not denying it, I just barely remember her at all bc it's been a few years since I've read the books or seen the movies but I vaguely remember not liking her but can't remember exactly why 😬
Everything she did in the books was racist and bullying. The entire fourth book she was doing nothing but bullying Hermione.
“Stunningly pretty? Her?”, Pansy Parkinson had shrieked, the first time she had come face to face with Hermione after Rota’s article had appeared. “What was she judging against - a chipmunk?”
‘She’s really ugly,” says Pansy Parkinson, a pretty and vivacious fourth year student, “but she’d be well up to making a Love Potion, she’s quite brainy. I think that’s how she’s doing it.”
Hermione isn’t even the only person she bullied.
“Hey, Potter! Potter! The Dementors are coming, Potter! Woooooooo!“
”Ooh, sticking up for Longbottom? Never thought you’d like fat little crybabies, Parvati.”
“Hey, Johnson, what’s with that hairstyle, anyway? Why would anyone want to look like they’ve got worms coming out of their head?"
I don’t really remember whether she used slurs but she is just as racist as Draco.
"Even you think she’s good-looking, don’t you, Blaise, and we all know how hard you are to please!”
"I wouldn’t touch a filthy little blood traitor like her whatever she looked like,” said Zabini coldly, and Pansy looked pleased.
Even J. K Rowling hates her.
“I loathe Pansy Parkinson. I don’t love Draco but I really dislike her. She’s every girl who ever teased me at school. She’s the Anti-Hermione. I loathe her.”
There is no canonical evidence of her being a good person of any kind and sure, it’s possible that she changed later on but, again its NOT CANON. Books 1 - 7 are all we have on her personality, there’s nothing else. So yeah, I don’t think a racist bully should be romanticised and called a feminist.
