Summary of Volume 6 of Afterschool Charisma PART 1
And so we start volume 6! This one's got Elizabeth I on the cover. Sorry for taking so long on this!
Chapter 31
The group peices together that both Shiro and Dr. Kamiya are clones
, meaning Shiro has been to St. Kleios before. Little Pandora (Or Marie Curie) notices Shiro's sad and runs over and tries to give him some candy to cheer up but the rest realize that this means Shiro is another Clone guardian like the rest of the Kai's.
Cue Flashback again with Kai.
Two of them, Kai and probably Kai 2 or something, are talking about Elizabeth (the one in flashback time). Kai is the one who supports keeping her locked up. Kai 2 tells him that he even believes this is harsh, saying that Kai has changed a lot. Kai seems to be coming to terms with his role as a guardian, claiming it's Kai 2 that's changed.
They go talk to Elizabeth in her room, saying they want to help her get out. She remains silent though and they leave, Kai leaves her some books since he sees her as bored out of her mind. In responce though she snaps, throwing the books at him .
Flash forward a bit, not to the present but a bit farther ahead. Or hell it could be a week ahead. Or the same time. All I know is Napoleon looks a bit older.
Napoleon is in a big office building! The two Kais go to see him and he tells them he's got this company now! They're impressed, he comments that seeing the two of them working together is kinda weird.
Change scene to something sad.
The Kais drive up to a big castle like structure. They mention that it's a religious order, and how money allows you to do what ever you want with your clone.
Inside a monk (At least that's what I'm calling him) leads them to the prayer hall where they find Hitler deep in prayer. The monks are making him atone for the sins of his original, wishing that his suffering will bring him salvation of his past crimes.
A bit later he and the Kais talk, he tells them that he's praying day and night to atone. But he's fine with it, believing the people here are trying to save him.He finally feels clean.
The group of Kais are sitting around table (they've even got the dark background way to look menacing) and are talking about the progress of the clones which seems to be going well.
Half a year later they again go to see Hitler, who looks starved. His face is hollow, you can really see his bones in his face. He tells them that he's going to die soon, the monastery is poisoning his food. Kai 2 freaks out, asking why. Hitler believes his soul will be liberated upon his death, free from all his sins and punishment. Kai 2 says that this life was his chance to seek out his world of peace but Hitler stops him, saying it's time for afternoon prayer. He says he's fine before the two leave.
Kai 2 is in disbelief, they're punishing the clone for the sins of it's original. But can the clone atone for the sins of the original? They're not sure. Kai 2 is angry, he wasn't made just to die! Not this way, sacrificing himself for such a goal. Kai wonders is they could even save him.
Hitler dies in his bed, achieving sainthood in the end.
Chapter 32:
And meeting time. The Kais are supporting that this kind of this makes their programs irrelevant. Rockswell says that this is exactly what they needed, the clones are simply an image of the original. They symbolize their originals. Clone Hitler was a complete success.
They go to see clone Mozart next, who is being told to compose some thing more Mozart. They slowly realize what Rockswell meant with the clones only being images. The man who purchased Mozart is disappointed, saying "some Mozart!"
Scene change to a Hospital (who else could be at a hospital though?)
Nightingale and the Hospital's director discuss a paper she submitted. He tells her that it's not her job to help the patients, she's only to be "The Angel in White".
She's angry, but is to make her rounds, She passes a crowd who are hailing her like a a celebrity. A small bit of narration from her tells us that this hospital only admits critical patients, and gives minimal treatment. None of their patients live very long. A patient soon dies, a small child. The family tells Florence that the boy (I think) was so happy for her to have cared for him in his final hours. She soon heads to the roof top, angry with this hospital only caring about profit. Short term means new patients can take their spots, money flows into the hospital. They use her for comfort, nothing more. She claims she should just be called the "Angel of death."
Another scene change. (This one legitimately made me uncomfortable to say the least.)
This one is Joanne of Arc, who lay in a giant bed. Two men are licking her legs, praising her as a Goddess. I'm gonna call the thing she's wearing under the dress a chastity belt 'cause that's all I can think of. The men beg for the key to it, but the people at the door claim that she's worthless unless she's a virgin. Her face looks emotionless, almost dead.
Scene change again! Napoleon this time.
He's drunk, and still drinking. (Good going). He's told he'll get to see an old friend tonight, an he's interested. He's escorted to a stage, he can't even see the other person until the shake hands, sealing some deal. It's Marie Curie!
They're talking, Napoleon is still drunk off his ass. She tells him that her company manufactures weapons, his distributes them. Napoleon, just being a figurehead, doesn't know anything. The weapons could be used for protection or killing, Marie explains that recently it's been for killing. Napoleon asks her if she's enjoying herself, which she responds that she enjoys her research She shoots back if Napoleon enjoys being a drunken puppet.
He screams back that he was bought, which she shoots down with "We were bought."
Scene shift again, Kuroe and Kamiya are talking. They notice that the clones aren't doing very well now, Kuroe can't take his eyes off the books around the room. Most of them too do with teaching small children, no doubt for Shiro.
Kamiya says that it's pointless to re-teach them at this point, they'll just use this new knowledge on the next batch of clones.
Little Shiro chooses this moment to run into the room, about the age of a toddler. He can talk so he's probably around 3 or 4. Gives us a time range though. He gets excited seeing Kuroe, calling him uncle. They all sit down to eat, Shiro gets excited finding a star shaped thing in his food, Kamiya points out that Shiro'll eat anything if it's like that. Kuroe looks sad, it's so different from how he was raised. His voice bubbles continue until the page scene with is one pages of Kai questioning what the point of clones are.
And I leave you all there for now. I have to do homework, but I'll do the next chapter set as soon as I can.
This room was another secret hideout of his. When Hitler first found it, it was covered in dusts and there was nothing inside it but windows that shown the scenery outside. He didn't know what is the previous function of the room nor he cared. It wasn't like he broke any rules. This room was never locked anyway. And so one day he brought his stool, his painting tools, opened the windows, and just started painting there. The lightning didn't work so he could only go there when the sun shone brightly. He knew if he wanted to have a better view of the scenery, he could go to the garden but sometimes he encountered unpleasant companions who whispered and stared.
Today was no different. Hitler was humming as the brush danced on the canvas. He sometimes looked outside and smiled. He was painting a Japanese Skylark who was chirping happily on a nearby branch. He had painted this for three days now and Hitler was sure that the bird who was sitting on the branch now was the same bird he painted two days ago. Hitler always gave it some seeds as a token of thank you and probably friendship. The painting itself was almost finished, he just gave some details here and there.
Summary of Volume 5 of Afterschool Charisma PART 3
Okay this computer is about to overheat lets do this fast.
CHAPTER 30:
Flashback mode still!
So they're all wondering what it'll be like with their new homes, everybody's giving their goodbyes. Elizabeth and the Kais are left there. One of the Kais makes the comment that they'll always have spares and Elizabeth runs off.
She finds Kai on the roof, the one with the scar so the present time Kai. She says she finally understands how he felt that day in the library, he tells her that had nothing to do with her. She panics, thinking this isn't the Kai she knows and he takes off the bandage that was on his scar and tells her she'll always be able to recognize him now. They both believe themselves misfits and talk briefly about running away.
Cuts to the Kais in a room (all of them, not just the others) and one asks where Elizabeth is since he can't find her. Kai remembers the rest of their conversation, they had agreed to a location and time.
She's there but Kai isn't. She tries to run away alone.
The Kais are told by Kamiya that they are to be the clones guardians, and Kai asks him what would happen if a clone tried to run away, to which he says that they would be taken to isolation and rehabilitated to rejoin the group but if that failed it called for a Do-Over.
While this narration was occurring Elizabeth was caught.
Cut to Kuroe slamming open a door. Apparently Kamiya is moving away from the academy, Kuroe doesn't want him to leave and states that Kamiya is a clone. Rockwells is there too, and mentions how he's interested in this new experiment.
Cue a small baby trying to chew on Kuroe's pant leg. It's one of the baby Kai clones, or Shiro. Kuroe is startled and angry, stating that that is a Kai clone. (I still can't remember if they've said why Kuroe hates Kais.) Rockwell holds Shiro up to watch Kuroe as he basically starts crying.
Scene cut to Kai. He's found Elizabeth's isolation chamber and glances in, she sees him and recognizes him.
Scene cut to the other clones. They're being welcomed to their new places (Oh god I remember what happens to Joanne later... That's something for later)
Finally they settle on Hitler who's being welcomed to his place. Not really welcomed it's a scary dark room. He walks in and this is the dialouge because it really creates the moment for me:
"We've waited... a long time for this day...
...Sinner"
The door slams and that's the end of this volume.
So yeah. Also Bonus comic to lift that dark mood.
Himiko, Elizabeth and Florence (Present) are all talking about Himiko and Rasputin. Elizabeth notes that she's into older guys, using Kai as an example, Florence is talked about briefly. They turn to the small Marie Curie and she points out that their originals were all single.
She says her only husband is Marie Curies's original husband. The other girls are shocked.
(Not as great a bonus as the Freud one, but still pretty nice)
I'm tired now, so I'll start Volume 6 on another night! Glad I at least got to finish this one.
You'll see what happens to the clones in the next one. It's creepy.
Summary of Volume 5 of Afterschool Charisma PART 1
Or at least my attempt to do so.
This one's the one with Hitler on the cover.
CHAPTER 25:
The recently introduced "Clone Shiro" as I will be calling him suggests that the Academy fears that they will also become terrorists, Napoleon isn't having any of it. The Director points out that they will eventually have to leave the academy. Freud questions why they should believe clone Shiro, he's also a terrorist. Shiro's angry at them for killing Joan still and snaps at the Director, who insists that he's on the Clone's side.
Cue Flashback by Clone Shiro from his time at the academy:
He knew he was going to leave at some point. Also, his name is Kai.
Opens in a swimming class, everyone's trying to balance on what I believe is a raft. Maybe. Well except Kai and Freud. Kai doesn't want to join in but Freud makes him.
It's apparently 2 teams trying to balance. Kai is distracted for a moment and slips, taking everyone with him. Cue panty shot of Marie Curie because we can't exactly ignore it. And Kai enjoys that.
Freud is pretending to be unconscious to get Mouth-to-Mouth from what I can tell, only to get slapped by Florence. He freaks out, Carl Jung calls him out on it only to get insulted back.
They leave and run into Dr. Kamiya in the hall. He calls Kai aside and they talk offscreen. It seems to be shocking news though. He sits in the library and Elizabeth finds him there. She heard about the talk and they discuss how it was inevitable.
They change subjects, not revealing what it was. Elizabeth says that the only way for anyone here to learn anything is through books. They decide to go on a walk together. Well they ride horses together. Close enough. They spot the gate and Elizabeth contemplates trying to get past them and really live. They have the idea to run away together.
Flashback within a flashback to the talk with Kamiya, it's revealed the topic was that another Kai was coming to the academy.
Present flashback time:
In class the new Kai is introduced, or as I will call him Kai 2.
CHAPTER 26:
This one jokes around at first with Kai, Napoleon with black hair thinks it's hilarious liking this new one's sense of humor. It proves as a reminded that everyone is clone though.
Kai 2, Einstien, Charles Darwin and Marie Curie are in a lab now. They're discussing cloneing in a criminal sense. How they can fool DNA tests, but not fingerprints and such. Kai 2 says he knows how clones are made as he grew up in a lab. They talk about cloning and how tricky it is.
"He doesn't just look like Kai, he is Kai"
Not a creepy line at all.
Kai is jealous of Kai 2, who's smarter and better than him in sports. He hates it. The Director, or just Rockswell at this point is greatly amused by their competition.
Kai and Elizabeth are talking outside, she feels sorry for him being compared to the clone all the time. When Kai sees them. Elizabeth had apparently been talking to Kai 2, I think I'm getting that one right. Kai refuses to be considered the same as Kai 2. Kai 2 just says that they're both Kai, to which Kai snap: "Stop pretending to be me!"
One of them grabs the other, this is honestly where I can't tell. I think it's Kai grabbing and yelling at Kai 2. Elizabeth tries to break it up but I think Kai 2 responds with "Which is which?"
Suddenly a car pulls up,I believe Kai 2 is the one who is irritated. A guy gets out and punches one of them in the face before even talking .It's Kuroe, who just says "Now we can tell you apart."
I like to think he punched Kai 2.
Okay I'm going to take a small break that was harder than I thought hehe.
Hope that's okay, I really did get lost in that last scene...
