ive mentioned this before but the reason why "it gets better" doesn't work like you expect it to for chronic suicidal depression is twofold. The first is that people have been telling us this for ages and it never was true (for me, they've been saying it for twenty years) for us, even if it is true for most people (and I believe that it really is true, for most people). The second is that it doesn't matter. If you're delirious with thirst in the desert and you can see an oasis two miles away, it doesn't matter how real that oasis is or how green or how clear the water is if you're too weak to walk two more miles. all you're gonna do is collapse a little bit closer than you were. I'm delirious with thirst. And I don't see the water anyway.
