Ki-moon and Naoise were together when they were much, much younger, and also both much worse. As he's gotten older, Ki-moon has gotten much calmer and more rational. Naoise... less so, but even he's chilled out some. But they were both reckless and possessive and wild when they were together. They were jealous and greedy. They killed, both to protect their partner but also just to claim what was theirs.

Ki-moon started to chill out first, especially as his extended family began to grown and there were children to look after. As he calmed down, their interests began to fracture. Ki-moon spent more time at home, more time with his family, less time being wild and feral and free.

There was no explosion or dramatic break-up. Things just slowly fizzled out between them. They don't hang out anymore, don't meet up. They don't see the world the same anymore.

But despite that, there's still some love there. There's still some trust. And if either of them needed help and didn't want to go to their respective family members, they know they could call on each other.

There are no debts between them, and that's no small thing between the fae.
