Worry was something Kevin felt a lot. He worried about his friends on a constant basis over various different types if things. Wondering sometimes if tehre were things they weren’t telling him that could be helped or the like. It was in Kevin’s blood to worry, to care. Something he was doing right this second as he stared at the intern who wouldn’t even meet his gaze. One sure sign of him lying. Of course he was lying to him, why wouldn’t he? Obviously he didn’t want Kevin to worry.Kevin wasn’t having any of that.
“I’m worrying anyways..” He stated, sharp breath he had taken moments earlier released now in a slow breath out. His gaze stayed on Joe, searching for him to meet it but he never did. “I honestly don’t think there’s anything you could say to make me stop worrying about you.” Especially when he knows you’re lying Joe.
“I care about you. You know that right?” Had to make sure, throw that out there. Kevin was here for him. Always was. “Caring means I’m gonna worry, especially when I know there’s something wrong with how you’ve been acting lately..“ A pause. “But I’m not gonna force you to tell me. I will however offer out my support, a listening ear and my shoulder to cry on if you need it.”
The more Joe seemed to reassure himself and tell Kevin that things were fine the more the other disregarded what he was saying and that just made Joe feel bad again. Yes, he was lying to Kevin but that was just because he didn’t want to bother him with something as unimportant as a few peoples views on something they shouldn’t even be criticizing anyway. Joe just wished he didn’t take them to heart.
“Kev--” He sighed, a hand running through his hair slowly as he did so. “I appreciate your concern but I’m okay...I promise.” He murmured then, sparing a glance at the other and flashing a weak smile as he did so.
