Red, White, Grey and Orange
Thank you so much, @thereisnothingwrongwithbeingmad!!!
Red: What type of writer’s block do you experience the most?
I tend to have a pretty good sense of direction when I sit down to write a good chunk of my stories. Details bridging one major scene to the next is my Achilles heel. When I get writer’s block, the words stutter out of my brain awkwardly. It takes every ounce of motivation to pull them out and I still might not be satisfied with what I wrote. Whenever I get into these blocks, I try to at least write 2-3 sentences. Sometimes that’s all I can manage but they eventually help me crawl my way out of the low point.
Are you a supporter/lover of fanfiction?
I do support fanfiction. It’s a wonderful genre with lots of passion. A lot of writers get their start in it and others have made really successful careers out of it. I’ve read some amazing fan works exploring different avenues for established worlds. Though I have to admit that I haven’t read much recently. The last fandom I was really into was musicals like Heathers and Hamilton.
Grey: What’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
Just get it on the page. Seriously! No matter how off it sounds at first, you have to write it out because it’s rare for the first draft to be gold and that’s okay.
Also, reading my work aloud. It really does help me catch those weird sentences and awkward bits of dialogue.
Orange: How many projects do you usually have going at once?
Currently three, but I tend to put more focus on one over the others. At the moment, I’m revising my Festival of Shadows story first and foremost, but I sometimes go back and write a bit for Notes of an Outsider and Gallows Hall.
