(fc meme!) Robert Sean Leonard, for Cassandra... Jennifer Morrison for Janet Drake... Terrence Mann for Hux... and Michael Sheen for Keevan!
@wordbound the faceclaim meme from a decent like… two months ago? It can go under a read-more because it’s a little long.
Name: Hyacinth GreengrassFace: Robert Sean LeonardBio: Cassandra’s parents uncle had a son a year after her and Evander was born. In proper Greengrass tradition, he had a Greek name, and because of the relatively small age gap, and similar interests, the twins and their cousin were close.
Being a pureblood heir was lonely, and Hyacinth, unlike his cousins, didn’t have any siblings. He read, and studied, and by the time he started at Hogwarts (Ravenclaw, of course) he was ahead of most of his classmates. The close quarters meant he and his cousins were really close, and he saw, in a way that Evander didn’t (Cassandra hid things from her twins in a different way), the relationship between her and Tom Riddle.
After he graduated, he and Evander both joined the Ministry and for the next two decades, life was reasonably quiet. He married a nice pureblood woman, and had a daughter. Then of course, the war started and both his cousin’s died.
He joined the Order of the Phoenix to try and make sure no one else lost people like he had. He’d already lost so many people. His daughter grew up and graduated, and his wife joined the Order with him. He survived the first war, but he left the Ministry, and opened a book store in Diagon Alley.
When Voldemort returned, he and his wife fed what information they gathered to the Order. (He never knew that Barty hadn’t died in Azkaban, but he did go confront Bartemius at Cassandra’s funeral to ask if he had any guilt for what he’d done).
Name: Doctor Gwendolyn LaurelFace: Jennifer MorrisonBio: Gwendolyn had, considering all the heroes flying around, a reasonably normal childhood. She had friends, and a bike, and then when she graduated highschool, she went to university and got her bachelor’s in biology. And then she met Janet, and the normal life became… slightly less normal.
She had some medical training, and was the lucky, or maybe unlucky passerby who found Janet after the aftermath of a fight, it wasn’t until years later that she learned what had happened. (Leaving the League of Assassins meant that any enemies Ra’s had, had decided to try and kill Janet to get back at him, they failed, but she’d still taken a few injuries). She stopped the bleeding, and managed to bandage it up a little before taking her to one of the free clinics.
Somehow, they became friends, and Janet spent a week sleeping on her couch before finding an apartment of her own. Life continued, September rolled around, and Gwen started her medical degree. At least once a week, she would go out with Janet, and when she got married to Jack Drake, Gwen was the person standing beside her.
When Janet took over Drake Industries, Gwen went with her and ended up running the free clinic that DI opened. It was good work, and she had known Janet for long enough to know that it would be a better job than some of the ones she could get anywhere else. She’s the one that delivered Tim, and when years later, he developed an interest in the infamous masked vigilantes of Gotham, she was the person who patched up his minor injuries. (And the person that reminded Janet of her own past when Tim broke his arm so Tim could be spared at least some of her ire).
Name: Pelin KovvokFace: Terrence Mann (circa Critters)Bio: There were many planets in the galaxy, and Pelin knows Corellia better than a lot of them. He grew up there, his father one of the many shipbuilders. The problem with Corellia though, was that it had a vicious underbelly, and Pelin got wrapped up in one of the gangs young.
Eventually, one of the many gang wars killed a lot of them, and already an adult by that time, Pelin left Corellia as the gunner for a spice trader. For a year, he and Evoc traded the drug. They split after a deal gone sour, and Pelin ended up on Nar Shadaa.
He ended up taking a bounty hunter contract, offering a tidy sum, and upon collection, took another. By the time Hux came looking for a bounty hunter, Pelin had managed to make a decent name for himself. Hux wanted someone– an older, former Imperial officer killed, and was willing to pay. The decision had been easy, and the work had been efficient. A year and a half later, Hux contacted him again.
The First Order rose, and with decent frequency, he’d get an encrypted message from Hux with a name, and he’d make sure the deed was done. He didn’t necessarily care about he brewing war, but even he could see just how fast Hux was rising through the ranks.
Pelin never joined either side, but the arrangement was mutually beneficial for both of them.
Name: Professor Elden VasserFace: Michael Sheen Bio: Monerida wasn’t part of the Federation, the whole planet had taken to a view of pacifism, after a long, and bloody civil war had nearly torn their planet apart two hundred years earlier. Elden hadn’t lived through the wars, but his parents had, and for him, he could see why the planet had chosen to stay out of the affairs of the Federation.
He grew up in one of the smaller bubble towns outside of the Kathil, capital of the western province, and when he was old enough, he travelled to the city proper to go to the university there. For two years, he worked on a classics degree, studying literature, and plays that had been important to the Moneridian society, before changing his major to history, and in particular, the time before the civil war.
When the Dominion came to the Alpha Quadrant, Monerida stayed out of the conflict, which is why when after the Federation had sent out the broadcast that peace had come back to the Quadrant, it was so surprising to see one of the Vorta.
Elden took Keevan in, and it was with the professor that Keevan spent the second and third months after the war. When Keevan eventually left Monerida, Elden supplied him with credits, and identity chip that would get him into Federation space.
Instead of going back to the University, Elden instead became an advocate for the planet taking in refugees from the war, and campaigned for them to enter the Federation.
