On my walk around the marina last night after returning to #TheSaus, I spotted the most magnificent large bird perched on top of a boat mast. I'd never seen it before but was totally absorbed by its commanding presence. As I watched it skillfully scan the water for fish, I gasped out loud when I suddenly realized a heron was right in front of me - staring at me calmly with no urgency to fly away. It was such a powerful and unexpected encounter - especially since I was in the middle of reflecting on the hawk's presence on top of the church at Tim & Em's wedding this weekend. These birds had a similar sense of peace and assurance about them. I later found out the large bird was an osprey - the Eagle of the Sea. The wisdom of the winged world is miraculous, and something we will probably never fully understand. I am grateful for their spirit. (at Sausalito Shipyard & Marina)
