Imagining a Vashwood romantic dinner or picnic date sounds enticing, but it never goes through cause they fight over the food somehow.
Spaghetti kiss? Not happening that's my noodle, I ain't sharing.

Chicago Metal Three-Piece These Beasts Open Up a Vent To Hell in New EP
~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~
This world is doomed. THESE BEASTS can feel it in their bones. The attack of the vocals in "End of the Whip" is one of the most savage, pissed-off things I've heard in a while. They froth and foment, backed by the terrifying screech of Chris Roo's guitars, driven by a heart-quickening rhythm section of bassist Todd Fabian and drummer Keith Anderson.

This isn't hardcore or any of the other "cores" that have been cored out along the way. This is pure, unadulterated Chicago metal and it is wholly and utterly convincing, in a manner that fans of Helmet, Unsane, and Whores. should well appreciate. A strong opener indeed to the band's forthcoming 12-incher, 'These Beasts' (2019), and indicative of the kind of material we can expect moving forward: concentrated power mingled with moments of unharnessed fury.

Today, Doomed & Stoned is pleased to present you with another single from 'These Beasts' (2019), dropping by month's end on Magnetic Eye Records (pre-order here). "Luke Warm At Best," the record's penultimate number, delivers more of that blistering assault with a take-no-prisoners attitude.
"Luke Warm is a fast, punchy rocker," the band told us. What's up with the song title? "The joke started when we demoed it with Mike Lust, a.k.a 'Trusty Lusty,' from Tight Phantomz/Lustre King, that it was it was only lukewarm at best. Everyone looked at me like I stepped on a nail in my quick wail in the second verse, but in the end it worked."
If you enjoyed the band's debut, 'Salvor' (2016), all I can say is Sanford Parker has done an outstanding job of bringing out the depth and breadth of the band's sound to the forefront in his recording of the latest EP by These Beasts.

Some Buzz

Asked if there was a basic intention to what they're doing, These Beasts singer/guitarist Chris Roo said, "The underlying theme of the whole band is this world is fucked and I just really need to get shit out with my friends by my side."
These Beasts formed via one of those serendipitous plot lines where a guy who's been in tons of bands moves to town (Chris to Chicago), meets and hits it off with a local drummer (Keith Anderson) based on shared music tastes, and they orbit near each other for a few years before timely breakups and a shared practice space frees them up to build something new and huge. Add in the requisite dude who stopped playing bass but still has his killer rig (singer/bassist Todd Fabian) moving to town at the key moment, and the rest... well, you know.
These Beasts' self-titled 6-song EP was recorded by Sanford Parker at Decade Music Studios, a historic facility that once focused on gospel recordings, situated in the old Cabrini Green neighborhood of Chicago. The record is thick and buzzing with angular, driving riffs and noisy grooves. Elements of everything from Rosetta to Botch break the surface, and a pervasive assuredness confirms the band's talent and distinctive vision.
With all members writing together, These Beasts' songs originate via everything from hummed riffs to immaculate spontaneous jams that fall inexplicably into place. Unafraid to scrap anything, they're endlessly winnowing their material to deliver fierce, singular energy, finished with lyrics that balance the autobiographical and metaphorical.
'These Beasts' (2019) releases on March 29th through Magnetic Eye Records on vinyl and via all worldwide digital distribution channels.
