With the right hand they scroll. In their left hand, resting on the couch, their fae lover reclines, lazily conjuring glowing geometries in the air. "The Banquet of Chesnuts," they snort. "Whose nuts?" ask the fairy. "Pope Alexander VI, probably." "Oh, I've been meaning to ask you, do you like CDs or tapes better?" "They still make tapes?" "Apparently." "Huh. Well, I still have CDs and I don't have any tapes, so... CDs." "See deez nuts," said the thumb-sized fairy in their palm. "Oh my God." "Yes. See... deez... nuts," the fairy repeated, savoring it. "Your little tiny nuts." "Wait, what? What do you mean?" "What did you think it meant?" "It means balls?" "That's what nuts are, colloquially, in this context, yes." "Oh. Well, uh.
