I choose not to take the "you'd be clapped in irons" as innuendo, but I'm not sure which way it was meant to be taken... I think Gomez delivers "if you like" in a very nonchalant / genuine manner, not the way, oh, River would've done... so I'm not entirely sure if it was writing, directing or delivery that made it different.

Yeah, I actually didn’t notice that line while I was watching it, only when I saw the gifset, so it could be taken either way.

At least to me you are equally adorable when you speak Finnish :) I tend to mock foreigners speaking Finnish only when it's clear they didn't even try the pronunciation; like when Conan O'Brien did it for publicity. I used to mock us Finns trying to speak English but I've begun to embrace it. Tö vei vii spiik Inklish is a veri uniikli finis vei, ai tink - The way we speak English is a very uniquely Finnish way, I think.

Kiitos, ystäväni.  Puhun suomea niin kuin pieni lapsi - I can only say simple things.  It’s funny how when I was in Finland, the people I understood best were the ones who weren’t native speakers, like the guy presenting the Chilean band. Or my older Swedish-speaking relatives - I spoke Finnish with them because they had no English and I had no Swedish, and we found common ground with our very elementary-level Finnish.  (Thanks to the Finnish school system, everybody my age or younger spoke very good English.)

I just think it’s fascinating how there is such a range of different sounds that the human mouth can make, and each language picks out a small set of them to use, which gives it its own kind of music.

I really am so much of a nerd, that I will listen to things online in languages I don’t understand, just to enjoy their sound palettes.

unfortunately the thing is, you are making public posts about something a lot of people feel strongly about.

the funny thing about my posts is when they get reblogged by anti-moffat people i always hate mail, not as much as i did when i had anon on but it comes in sometimes all the same

if you feel so strongly about an issue that it leads you to send threatening messages to someone on the internet you need to talk to somebody about that

I dunno, I find it weird how people see Capaldi looking older than Smith and go “well these two can’t be together”. Personally I see way better chemistry between Jenna and Peter, though I don’t interpret either relationship as romantic.

I mean I wouldn't immediately dismiss it because it's fiction and he's a 2000 year old alien and I can't totally speak on their chemistry because I still haven't watched the last two episodes but for the first few I didn't really see any chemistry between them, especially not romantic, except maybe in "Deep Breath"

And you know I just know that no one involved wants romantic interest between them and it does feel weird
