The Seed of Greatness
I think about David a lot and wonder of he ever dreamt about being king. I know the Bible doesn't say anything about it but I wonder if there was an inclination inside of him. I feel that, as humans, we can feel the seed of greatness inside of us but we don't always acknowledge it. Manifesting your destiny and living your purpose are not God's job alone. We have to do the work as well. What if David never practiced playing the lyre in his free time? Then he wouldn't have been able to play for Saul to calm his vexed spirit. What if he never used his sling shot to protect his sheep from lions and bears? What if, in fear, he just left the sheep to be attacked and devoured? Then he wouldn't have had the faith or skill (works) to kill Goliath? What if he consumed his time with ideal distractions while in the field instead of spending time with God? Or in our case, devoted more time to social media, fledging relationships, or our favorite television shows instead of communing with God, our life source. Then he wouldn't have the spiritual connection with God needed to order his steps as he reigned over Israel. No matter how audacious a task may seem, God has equipped us to see it through. However, we must start tending to the seeds of gifts, talents, skill, and creativity in our lives. Faith without works is DEAD!!! Everything we need to fulfill our destiny is already in us. Through His guidance, we wield those tools to live out our perfect purpose. God is faithful to finish the work He's started in us. Now let's do our part! Read James 2:14-26 when you get a chance.
