Next stop on MEEMS by MOMS by SOUTH by SOUTHWEST USA 2013 was Brentwood - just outside of Nashville.
We were playing an intimate house show for a series called Cause A Scene, bent on building up the local scene and having quite a bit of success at it, organising an increasing number of shows and gathering a reputation for consistently putting together a very fine evening of music.
In terms of the artists we had the pleasure of playing alongside, that evening was no exception. Anna Haas opened, followed by The Ridges, followed by their touring partners The Seedy Seeds. All were fantastic.
Also there was an ice cream truck. Part of the joy of touring comes through the many opportunities for new experiences it presents… my new experience that evening came in the form of an orange dreamsicle milkshake. My world is forever changed.
We were well looked after by Larry Kloess, the man responsible for putting Cause A Scene together. He put us up for the evening in his house (which was also the venue for that evening’s show) and even more generously made us breakfast in the morning. A stand up dude on all fronts - thanks very much Larry and Cause A Scene!
The next day we were off to Hattiesburg, Mississippi!
