Hello everyone!
Horse Racing [Open]
"I'm sorry to inform you of this Mr. Poole, but you're apartment... it can no longer be lived in due to the amount of toxins leaking into your building." The lady on the other end of the phone tipped in. "We ask that you evacuate the apartment within the next 48 hours so that health officials and a team of professionals can fix the situation."
"But... where am I supposed to live?" Nathan said in a haze. He looked around the living room and sighed. "In this neighborhood, flats are the only rooms available. And those cost a fortune."
"We're sorry. May I recommend moving to a new neighborhood." The lady snarkily replied.
"Thanks." Nathan leaned back on the sofa and looked around the room once again. This really was the perfect apartment. It was at the heart of New York City, and was just big enough for Nathan and Charlotte to each have their own space. Now, to stay in this neighborhood, Nathan would have to shell out a pretty penny just to rent out a flat. Though the view would be nice, the space in flats usually didn't cut it.
The lady on the other end said, "Have a nice day Mr. Poole." And she hung up the phone. The line went dead, and Nathan sat, thinking about his options. Where was he going to make a quick buck to pay for this more expensive home. Then a thought hit him. "Charlotte!" He called out. He put his phone away, and smiled to himself. Though it was considered cheating the system, nobody would ever have to know. It would probably get them just enough money for at least a few month's pay on the new rent. "Get your shoes on! We're going to the horse races."
theseeingpoole replied to your post: You are the sassiest SHIELD agent. See, I knew you were going to say that.
And though I'm not quite as gifted as you are, I knew you were going to say that.

Hey, I'm Steph.
Taxi Switch
'I think..no, wait. just. I think it's best if you just stop and get another cab. Something bad.'
Nathan Poole stared at his phone incredulously. The text his daughter sent him was totally unbelievable, but she had never been wrong before about these kinds of things. He sent back a short message to her before stopping the driver. "Stop the cab." His monotone voice left a sour taste in his mouth. He reached in his back pocket of his slacks and handed the driver a few bills from his wallet, leaving a generous tip. "Thank you." Nathan collected his briefcase and over coat and slid out of the back seat of the taxi, shutting the door before the cab drove off to the next stoplight.
He held out his hand, hailing another taxi, and as he put his things inside, he heard a crash from up ahead. Nathan quickly turned to the scene and saw his previous taxi dented completely in where he had just been sitting.
'Ok..you're safe. Good. That was close. Barely caught that one.' His daughter sent back. A sigh of relief flooded from Nathan's mouth as he sat down in the backseat of the new cab and gave the driver the address.
'You were right.' Nathan texted back as the cab started forward again.
