I still have my whole family. I have wonderful children and grandchildren.

What makes you smile?

The “Share a Smile” Project

is an ongoing project of one art student inspired by this question. I hope to gather the answers of anyone and everyone in order to create a bar graphic made up of all of their photos. A photo(bar)graph, if you will.

Can & how do I participate?

Anyone can participate in this, and I encourage and ask that i you have a few minutes to spare & a camera/webcam, that you do participate.

step 1: write The question: “What makes you smile?” Your answer: Write it down! (+ bonus points for doodles) step 2: take a photo! Using any camera, webcam, phone, etc, take a photo of yourself holding your answer. Your face, pose, and model skills are all up to you. step three: submit! Send your photo to me via this page, or email your photo to [email protected] step four: tell me about yourself along with your photo, include your name and location in the universe. that way i can know who and where the amazing smile is coming from! step five (optional): spread the word! let people know that you’re participating in the project! post/share your photo on social media (facebook, instagram, twitter, tumblr, etc) and don’t forget to tag #stopsmileshare and #theshareasmileproject :)

Last Thoughts, and Artist's Goals

The goal of this project is to bring together people to show that we all have reasons to smile, and find common reasons by which people can relate to one another. Often times I feel that people become so focused on work, school, and other things that keep us busy. Sometimes we just need to stop and take a look around us, around our lives. Sometimes all we need is a smile in our day, whether it is a random stranger smiling at us on the way to work, or our own smile from a heartwarming scene.
