It had been a while since Emmet had checked up on Murphy. He figured that now might be a good time to ask him about his progress!

Lucy had nothing but positive things to day after their ‘hangout sesh,’ which was a good sign. But maybe Emmet was starting to take the title of ‘Teach’ that Murphy had given him a bit more seriously, because his mind kept wandering back to him. Lucy’s secondhand account of his apparent happiness was good, but hearing firsthand how he was doing seemed important.

That was the train of thought that led up to Emmet standing on Murphy’s front step, knocking confidently on the front door. He hoped turning up unannounced wasn’t an unwelcome surprise, but as of yet he didn’t really have a way to get in contact with him directly, other than face-to-face.

                             It’s very difficult to get adopted when you’re told to act a certain way durring the interviewing process. She still remembers the golden rules..  Speak with precision and poise.  NO silly answers!  Always remain small and quiet.  Feh.. no wonder she got stuck on that lame paper route , she always got stuck behind the show-offs, too. Its no fun being someone you’re not, and Molly knew that right from the get-go! Sometimes, she almost wishes she had stayed dead.

“Accepting powers from someone you don’t really get along with is way past ‘taking candy from strangers’! Didn’t someone teach you that it is a really really bad idea to accept things from random people?? Especially if they’re giving them away for free!”

Lucy was grateful that she’d worn so many layers. Sure, riding your motorbike through the desert sounded like a pleasant thing to do in the heat of the day, with the cool wind in your face and the sun on your back; at night it was another story. That is it say, it was absolutely freezing.

But her bike had been easier to load onto the ship than any other vehicle at her disposal, so layering it was. It worked well enough, the cold wasn’t unbearable. Even so, when she spotted the glow of a building up ahead, she felt a rush of relief.

The simple, one-story house was the only one in the area, though Murphy had told her a more developed desert settlement wasn’t too far off. Not for the first time, she wondered what his house was doing all the way out here.

Lucy pulled up in front of the house, noting with interest that Murphy had a bike as well. She parked her motorcycle beside his, pulling off her helmet and goggles and hanging them from one of the handlebars. She took a moment to make sure her hair wasn’t all over the place, then walked up to the front door. She wasn’t surprised to see a shape already moving inside through the window. Motorcycles weren’t exactly quiet, and he probably didn’t get a lot of traffic around here.

“Hey Murphy! It’s Lucy!” she called as she walked up to the door, grinning.

[/ What is Molly's most treasured possession?]

   As odd as this might sound, Molly’s most treasured possession is her hair-ties!  Believe it or not: she used to always wear her hair down and flat. ( it was part of her foster-uniform.) Growing up, she’d always been told not to be a show off, but one day while making a paper delivery, her usual lady on the route she took surprised her with a gift! Two hair-ties, both adorned with ruby-red baubles on each. The lady took her into her lap, tying molly’s hair up right and tight, and told her.. “You owe it to yourself, to live to your truest self-”

                             Molly, like most children, her interests are constantly shifting and changing! If it was up to her, she’d have every career under the sun! From Apothecary to Zookeeper!  Her true passion? Hair styling! 

                 She’s always been quite talented with intricate braids and the like! Once, in her foster home, she did a mock-wedding hair-do’ for some of the other kids’s pretend party!
