Natalie jumped at the sound of Hana’s voice, face whipping up from the make up bag that had commanded her attention up until now. She hadn’t expected anyone to find her in the gym change rooms without any classes being held, but.. She should have known better.
“No one. Nothing.” She avoided the question and averted her gaze, uncapping her foundation and watching as the ivory cream pooled against her palm. “I had an accident at dance class last night, and I didn’t have time to cover it up before I got here.”
Expertly, carefully, Natalie began to paint over the ugly bruise that spread across her face, forming a mask and blocking out the truth - as usual.

How’d you find me?” It was innocent and idle chatter, working as a good distraction from the ache in her skull and the fracture in her heart.
