Kit Island Release! April 30, 2020
This is the official release of my latest world Kit Island. This is a tiny world inspired by New England. The world features a complete downtown with a bar, a coffee shop, a gym, a library, and festival grounds. There is also a cemetery and a small church. The port features a “ferry” that Sims can “take” to go to more jobs on the mainland. The world has every base game rabbit hole, however, Jynx’s Rabbithole rugs were used to achieve this. The grocery store, spa, diner, bistro, office building, bookstore, police station, city hall, and military base all are in buildings on the island, whereas the rest are found on the “ferry.”
Lots:
The world features 48 lots total, most of the lots are small. (20x30 or less usually)
18 commercial lots (all fully built and usable)
20 residential lots (2 houses and 2 “town homes” are built)
The reason I chose not to build every residential lot is because my game is struggling to run smoothly. After building for awhile my game will crash and it is a bit frustrating to deal with. On top of this, I’m not super inspired by the style of this world anymore, especially for residential lots. However, I do plan on using this world since it is so small but still has everything I want in a world and will try to release houses for the empty lots in the future.
Content Needed:
Uses these packs: Late Night, Pets, University Life, Seasons, and Island Paradise.
Custom Content: The download comes with the world as well as a custom content folder. The world only uses the Jynx Rabbithole Rugs as well as Awesims’ Cornices. I’m including both of these in the download, the folder marked “Kit Island CC” can be placed in your mods/packages folder. These are both HIGHLY recommended for game play as well as the aesthetic of the world.
Known issue with a solution: Both of the town home lots in my testing were glitched slightly. When your sim enters the lot, the game doesn’t allow you to switch floors. The solution I found was just to make your sim climb the stairs by clicking on them, and then once the sim enters each floor, the game will allow you to switch between them again. I tried to fix this by removing some debug objects and other things but nothing seemed to work. Otherwise, every lot is thoroughly tested and things like swimming and boating work well, however remember it is a tiny-size world so the boats can’t stray very far from the island. If any glaring issues are found let me know and I will fix and re-release asap!
Thank you to everyone who has been leaving me asks about this world and pushing me to release it! If you play in this world or build a house to share, please tag your posts on tumblr with #KitIsland
