also something i feel like people forget is that the reason why violet takes safety so seriously is because she slacked off to go to the greenhouse the day the twins were lost and she feels a lot of shame for not being there when she was supposed to. so she cant let her guard down. now shes trying her best to keep the rest of the kids safe
SUCH A GOOD POINT!! I forgot to include that in there but Violet definitely feels shame for not stepping up when she believed that she should have. It’s kind of similar to how Louis after Marlon’s death felt bad for slacking off, but Violet in particular has to deal with her fear of abandonment and now this position of leadership that requires her to do everything she can to keep the other kids safe.
