When Plans Go Awry
"Really Lizzie. Really? Of course something came up. Something always comes up. This is why I didn't want to have you give me the grand tour of your lovely home territory. Whelp, I'm in a freaking city. I've got free time. And I have my baby. Could be worse. Let's see how lost I can get here on foot. And then utterly confuse Liz when I show her where I was." Muttering to herself Alex pulled out her baby before exiting the park where she and Liz had planned to meet.
Wandering about the streets, observing all manner of characters working, playing, practicing, surviving, drinking, reuniting, and more Alex put her skills to use. Through alleyways, streets, buildings, parks, subways, and trains. Across construction crews, homeless, business districts, the downtown area, a few law firms, restaurants, shops, police stations, ambulances, and firefighters. Taking pictures of the people, and of the surroundings. From buildings so pristine they sparkled to houses with wood over the windows, shops with bars over the doors. Graffiti on rundown buildings, and plants growing up and through concrete as the man-made material splintered and fractured. Photographs taken, and recorded onto the SD card in the camera, Alex's baby.
Eventually Alex came across an eye-catching car innocently parked. A white Porsche with red and blue racing stripes. '....Vad fan? What's a car like this doing in parked in this area? Isn't Liz's kid a car fan? They'd probably get a kick of seeing something like this. Meh, why not? Could make a few prints for the short stack. Parents are into medicine, and the daughter wants to be a race car driver. How she became such an avid car lover's beyond my understanding. But hey, whatever floats her boat. Now, what angles should I use?' Walking around the vehicle, varying what her eye sight level was to figure out what would be the most fun. About doing the splits, crouching, jumping in the air, leaning back almost to the ground at times Alex left no view from the ground (or a few feet in the air) unchecked. 'Thank god no one's around. They'd probably think I'm insane or something. But photography! And thank you inanimate object. So much easier to photograph cars WHEN THEY AREN'T MOVING! Yes, let's just ask our photographer friend to photograph race cars while we're at a race. Fan it, they're too fast for me to take a fan decent photo! Oooooo, this angle is kinda fun.'
Down in a partial crouch, with one leg extended out alongside the vehicle Alex was near the hood. Raising her camera while adjusting the exposure bracketing, shutter-speed, and F-stop to what she wanted Alex began taking photos, with different depths of focus used in each one. 'Can make this one all HDR for 'er. That'll be fun.'
