On the subject of Webcomics
c: I used to have one that I ran a long time ago. Too long, honestly. I really, really miss it, if my art here can be any indicator.
Dueling Heroes was the name. It was supposed to be a VERY short miniseries serving as a prologue for another story. But it very quickly took a life of its own. In fact, Effex was intended to be the only main character, but Scareflare, originally designed as a Baddie of the Week Saturday Morning harmless villain ended up becoming the life of the party and quite possibly my favorite character in the comic. EFFEX became Dueling Heroes and it took off. It looked like shit in the beginning, truthfully. I still look back on it and cringe sometimes at the specific art.
That said, it taught me SO SO much, and I want to thank everyone who has ever read Dueling Heroes or been a part of it. You all make my life tons happier and I’m grateful for everything you’ve done. Thank you all. <3 I’m going to do this for serious.
I learned a lot of things- about drawing, about life. About time management! Updates take time, and good work takes even more! Take your time, listen to good music, make good friends who will tell you the truth about your work and enjoy life. Enjoy what you do. I’m gonna look back on this post whenever I stress out, I tell you what.
The story got a bit out of control, but I think the first volume (and bonus comics) are pretty darned readable! Towards the end, there’s a crossover with Victory! I recommend reading as far as you can on the Drunkduck link, then swapping to the comicfury link once that one is done. I lost my password around then and the DD website wouldn’t return it!
