Frank Miller, Ed Brubaker, Bendis and Robert Venditti are my favorite noir writers. They ask uncomfortable questions, the kind that make you squirm, take a shakey smoke, scowl and leave the room. I love bold, naked truths. Even if they are bad. Even if I'm at the other end of their loaded barrel. A truthful man dies a peaceful death. . All of ink from my favorite scribes pulse through the veins of their heroes...or anti heroes. Your pick. They may be addicted to back alley bars, painted ladies, nose candy and knuckle shattering fights, but at least they're honest. You know what you're gonna get and it's gonna be consistent. . I love the concept of a Surrogate, a virtual human that a husk waiting to be filled with human deviance. A truth masked in perfect lies. A tragedy adorned with comedy then portrayed as fact. This is such a good read since it asks: Are new falsehoods really all that great?
