We watched last night's #sunset from the dock of a little hideaway called the Tiki Bar. A single room bar that uses two wood burning stoves to heat the place, one of which was made by hand and given to the bar to use. This place was by far one of the coolest bars I've been to. The walls were made entirely of glass bottles and each doorway was lined with hundreds of bottle caps. Countless license plates from all over the United States decorated the ceiling while numerous wine corks were used to cushion the wood poles supporting the ceiling. You won't find food at the Tiki Bar, only drinks and new friends. The laid back atmosphere or "Island Time" as it's referred to by locals, provides a carefree, easy going environment as well as a connection like I've never witnessed between individuals on the island. We have heard several stories of couples or individuals who came to the island for a small vacation and either extended their time, or never left. Outside of the Tiki Bar was a quote that we felt fit perfectly with the vibe of Cedar Key... "It feels so good to be lost in the right direction."
