Springtime in Almonte
Spring has sprung in Almonte!
We are enjoying our annual allotment of two weeks of bliss: the evanescent period after the ice and snow retreat, but before the biting insects charge forward.

Another Ice Storm in the Ottawa Valley
Yet another ice storm has descended upon the Ottawa Valley.
It is beautiful to behold, but unlovely to experience.
Power has been out for more than twenty-four hours. Many patriarch trees are snapping under the weight of thick ice that encrusts them.
The horses seem to be enjoying it, though!

Three New Residents
Three new cats have come to live at the farm: Stripes; Inky; and Leo.
They were feral cats in care with animal rescues, so could not be placed as house cats. However, they are thriving in their new home as barn cats.
Stripes is the most forward, Inky the most vocal, and Leo the most bouffant.
