Notice the takeout bag on the table. “Hippo” is a real San Francisco burger joint and the logo design is period specific. I point this out because it would never be noticed otherwise. #djbryant #thetissuepaperdesperado https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp9czWWuI_F/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Kitty is giving Benny some kinda’ look, and so concludes this smoking sequence. Brought to you by Viceroy...Some taste too strong...some too light.. but Viceroy’s got the taste that’s right! ...also, don’t smoke... it bad :(
I’m still adjusting to my whacky 2023 schedule, so my posts are a bit random and at odd hours, but I’ll keep ‘em coming. #djbryant #thetissuepaperdesperado https://www.instagram.com/p/CnbhNH0uE7x/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
No hanky-panky she says... Hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving.
The Aubrey Beardsley picture is small enough in this panel that I’m leaving it uncensored- hopefully the algorithm won’t mind. The picture is called Cinesias Entreating Myrrhina to Coition. Beardsley was an early influence. His sense of refinement lent a legitimacy to the often sexually explicit (and funny!) subject matter. His work is one of the reasons I would go on to do comics about people entreating one another to coition. #djbryant #thetissuepaperdesperado #aubreybeardsley https://www.instagram.com/p/Crj5kC0pGBH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
And with this panel I retire this floor pattern forever. Have a lovely day folks! #djbryant #thetissuepaperdesperado https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqr6GYTutJm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Hey, remember me? I’m back with another panel! It’s been a strange year so far. I recently took a new job working a graveyard shift, which ended up being a catalyst for a lot of difficult changes… emotionally …physically, the whole bit, and at a certain point sent me careening head first into a deep depression which I’m still kinda’ crawling out of. You’ve been there. You know the drill. My good friend Dustin Weaver once said depression can be an energy you can use to make changes in your life. I know that sounds odd since depression often drains energy, but there’s a truth to it that’s helped me crawl out of the pit on many occasions. I don’t often share this kind of personal stuff on the internet, but it seemed appropriate this time. I should be going back to more regular posts now, while remaining ambiguous and elusive. My normal steez. #djbryant #thetissuepaperdesperado https://www.instagram.com/p/CpAGzz5OqYq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
