Mulder and Scully would absolutely be the Hill House parents trying to flip an OBVIOUSLY haunted Gothic manor while the kids are all crying and developing fresh traumas. Mulder shoves young William into a crawl space in the wall to take some Polaroids while Scully's standing over his shoulder like "ghosts don't exist sweetie"

If it helps at all (as I may have mentioned once or twice), Endeavours Too Short of Desires is my gold standard, not only for how deftly you cut into Mulder and Scully and reveal what I already knew about them but didn't realize, but for the way you spin your words around them. There's such a buzz to your language; it's heightened in the same way theirs is, but it always comes back down to earth. It's definitely haunted me.

I feel like Endeavours Too Short of Desires is a direct result of how many times I read Parabiosis, but I do like it.  I’m touched that you are still enjoying the story!  And thanks for saying I’m haunting you <3  It’s my life’s goal.

Mulder and Scully sleep together… twice, The X-Files

Maybe seeing Mulder and Scully in bed together shouldn’t be such a big deal after 25 years and a child (or two), but The X-Files is stingy with the good stuff — so stingy, in fact, that last year, “that split second in the X-Files promo where Mulder and Scully are in bed together” made our list of unforgettable shipper moments. This year, that “split second” unfolded in all its glory. In a motel with a convenient shortage of rooms, Scully sought comfort in Mulder’s bed for the first time since the 2008 movie, and they talked about growing old together (even their pillow talk is bittersweet). But the second time was just plain sweet: The hour ended with Scully knocking on Mulder’s door to find him waiting for her on the other side. —Kelly Connolly

I was just watching something (Demi Adejuyigbe’s talk at XOXO) about how creativity requires being willing to fail in public and I believe it! I don’t think we can ever create anything great if we haven’t hit publish on a lot of things we’re not necessarily proud of. Writing all the time is definitely better for you. Also, people remember what they *love,* not the rest.

Uh for some reason it erased my entire response.  Which was along the lines of “thank you!”  I agree writing all the time is definitely better.  I don’t think it really came across in my post this morning that I’m not really worried about the quality of my writing (there’s high-school-era leiascully fic on the AO3 and I’m not ashamed of it but wow I’ve come a long way), but more just thinking about what I’ll be remembered for.  “Oh, leiascully wrote humor” or “leiascully wrote a lot of drama” or “you know it’s a leiascully story when there are more puns than should be inflicted on any reader” kind of epithets.  I don’t think I have ~an aesthetic~.  I think there’s something different every time you walk into my shop.  It’s just an interesting thought.
