Matthew Reilly is almost at the end of the Jack West series with The Two Lost Mountains. “Jack and his team race to find one of the lost mountains to get a key to enter the final Labyrinth and stop the Omega event.” Reilly write some incredible action. He is the master at writing his characters a way out of impossible situations. The whole book is nonstop action. Fans of James Rollins would enjoy Reilly. This was a hard book to get. It was supposed to be released in the US on 5/1 but no bookstores had copies and had long lead times to order it. #DymocksReadingChallenge 16/26 - A Mystery / Thriller 🕵‍♂️ 🔫 The Two Lost Mountains by Matthew Reilly 🕛🕛🕛🕧 Aside from the first book, I've been listening to audiobooks of this series so it was really good to have all these pictures & diagrams to complement the reading. I'm assuming they were in earlier books too but I missed them because of my chosen media. On the other hand, it took me awhile to adjust, to coordinate the speed of my eyes reading the words and my brain in comprehending the text. It's a very fast paced action packed book and my eyes needed to see what's happened next but my brain wasn't quick enough to keep up. Once I managed that, though, nothing could stop me but to reach the end. The Two Lost Mountains is an absolute cracker of a novel. Things were ramping up and the end of the world is coming closer and closer; these events are happening a mere week before Christmas and the book ended on Christmas day... makes me wonder if something is happening in our world too?! The ending isn't quite a cliffhanger but I do want to know if Jack will live through the end of the world. As always, a very fun read (suspend all disbelief!!) with lots of explosions and things falling apart and yet, readers are not safe from heartbreaks either (yes, I got teary eyed too).
