I love our hair: the color, the texture, the kink, the wave, the way we choose to style it. This is an ode to Black hair. Thank you Afro Punk for creating a safe space for some of the most beautiful Black people i've ever seen to come together and be ourselves. photography x courtney harvier IG @courtney.harvier
they kill our men and then tease our sons for not having fathers. i initially shared my thoughts on the recents killing spree the cops have been on on every other social platform but my main instagram account. but this is where i have the most followers and where what i have to say can reach more people. and what i have to say is :: this isn't gonna stop. not with these little protests we've been doing. they're not gonna stop murdering your brothers if you yell at them. that's not how it works. some may say it's time to get violent (because yes, that would work) but it just adds to the mess. what's really gonna make a difference is if we hit these people in their pocket. stop buying shit you don't need. stop wasting your cash on some shoes your kid is going to grow out of. buy what you need to survive and only that. because pretty soon, us not spending our money is going to going to make a change. and we need this change. we need the cops to stop killing 100+ black males by the sixth month of the year. we need the government to stop turning their cheek. we need our little kids to stop fearing the ones who are supposed to protect us, because i don't think i know one black person today that would call the cops to their home in an emergency. out of fear. // i had to unfollow this girl i'm supposed to be going to high school with because she posted something about all lives matter and honey i wasn't about to start nothing and i wasn't about to have her ignorance flood my feed 🙂 // #veryblack #blacklivesmatter
