@thewaxlion: The moment I knew for sure I hated Chloe was when she got the ability to get the truth out of people and was going to use it to find out about Clark from his parents.
That was such a low point for her. I could never see her even as a proxy-Lois because her journalism seemed to always be about passing judgment and having personal gratification from being right than it was about truly uncovering the truth for the truths sake. Everything about her S2-S3 arc is fueled by jealousy and the need to expose Clark for her own satisfaction and it’s gross. And alllll of these character traits were ultimately to further luthor plots, so it didn’t even really belong to her. Bc after all that the friendship was reset, like she didn’t do anything. Uggggggh.
@isagrimorie: You know what I also like, that Lois and Lana like each other– it’s not like with Lana and Chloe where they keep insisting they were friends but there’s always this saccharine showy facade of friendship with underlying feelings of jealousy & what feels like Chloe being condescending to Lana
The Lana/Lois friendship was so weird bc… why did they like each other? I mean, they were both cool people, and I guess that’s it? And Lana saved her, true, but… they never really gave a reason lol. On the show itself I find it odd, but as a commentary on the way Lois and Lana are portrayed in other media it’s appreciated (also rewatch the scene with AC and Clark and Lois and Lana in the Talon and pay attention to Lana watching Lois and Clark, it’s BIZARRE bc clearly Lana sees something).
And Chloe was always an obstacle to Clark and Lana. ALWAYS. And it was always annoying. So much of their grief came from dreading over telling her.
