it was the easiest way to admit she didn’t know what she’d been insulted for — the tone behind the word had come clear enough. ( you decided gale was the safest bet, at least he wouldn’t laugh in your face for being too stupid to know what name you’d been called ). verbose response twitches lips into a smile. the sheer size of his intelligence never made her feel lesser. ❛ surely not, ❜ she laughs, though the huff of air feels stilted. ❛ it was — well, it was ‘ nugatory ’, ❜ lena shares, something bashful in her tone, despite attempt to hide it.

Adrenaline is still rushing coursing through their veins, but the tension finally begins to leave their body and Alinor manages a slight smile. They made it out of there and Gale is still alive. How the wizard is fairing mentally remains to be seen, but his appetite is surely a good sign.

"I'm sure we can figure something out at camp." Their words include not only the food, but the whole situation as well. Whatever the aftermath might look like - at least Gale is still around and that's all that truly matters for the moment. "Though I wish we had a better cook than me to commemorate the occasion."
