The Definition of Freedom|| TheWinter-Siege
Life had become a series of outposts. Of going here and going there. After SHIELD had fallen she had become a nomad, never staying in one place too long or too often, never getting to know anyone or become attached. Attachment was dangerous after all and she knew that far better than most. Natasha had always kept herself closed off, folded away from those around her. Once someone had pierced that shell, almost violently and she still had yet to repair it fully. But she tried not to think about that and kept herself busy. Moving and going.
Her current location of choice was Venice. It was nice this time of year and she had never really gotten a chance to explore it fully and without a timeframe hanging over her head. She was free now, but what was true freedom? Sometimes it felt more like freedom to be shackled than not. Shackles often provided a purpose after all.
The sun shone brightly, it’s light dancing across the blue crystal waters of the canals as she leisurely strolled along, taking in the age old architecture and listening to sounds of the boats moving through the water. It was pleasant and charming, picturesque and she was enjoying herself in this particular corner of the world, but at the same time she was also working on plans to move on to the next place and where that ought to be. Hawaii came to mind, get a little sun and all that, but at the same time she was trying to avoid anywhere American right now. She felt like she was being watched and whoever it was doing such was trouble for her and she wasn’t ready to go back to reality just yet if at all.
Maybe freedom wasn’t so bad, but then again maybe it was.
"You know damn well I do not follow Father's teachings, but I OBSERVE, unlike you. Without Mother by his side, the Allfather would have slaughtered everything in his path, and we would not have the life we have today," the liesmith countered, arms folding almost childishly over his chest. "And you are just as rash as he once was... a level-headed being at your side would do you good."

"That's why I have you. You won't let me slaughter everything in my path." He smirked and crossed his arms as well. "So quit your incessant nagging. Besides what do you care of my future wife? It's not like you were your kindest to the women I've courted in the past."

A large stack of legal documents sat on Thor’s desk and four lawyers sat around, reading off from their own copies. “Now Mr. Odinson if you would sign, the company and all its affiliates will be under your control.” One man with beady eyes and a very rat like face peered at him over the papers. “We’ve made sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible.” He had a faint French accent.
They were four of the best lawyers in the world and Thor trusted them completely but with recent events he couldn’t be as excited as they were about this change.
"Of course there is the matter of our Europe branch. As you are aware they are almost completely independent but we would like to incorporate them back to the main company here in the states." Another lawyer rambled on about lore business while Thor's mind wandered off to his wife, Amora and their son Magni.
"So then you will have to go to London immediately to seal the deal. They've hired a new branch head, young, ambitious, and inexperienced from what I hear. It will be easy." A third lawyer smiled at Thor but it felt cold and it didn't reach his eyes.
That is how, three days later Thor was checking in to a hotel room in the center of London. He would have a dinner meeting at an exclusive restaurant with the new VP to discuss the future of the company.
Overall Thor expected the most boring evening as he climbed into a limo after unpacking and having a quick shower. The jet lag made him want to nap but instead he was forced to socialize.
Once he arrived in front of the appointed meeting place, he was shown to the table where a young man sat. Thor extended a hand as he approached. "Thor Odinson," He introduced himself, "I'm sorry, I was never told your name..."
Cold Cuddles
She knocked on the door loudly, announcing her arrival. The plan was to make dinner, maybe catch a Christmas movie on TV, and just spend some genuine time together. "I can't open the door! Too many groceries! Siege!" Pepper knocked again. "Hurry! This is heavy!"
