He wasn't so frightened when Sophia declared that he'd be meeting her parents a day from now. Jasper didn't have any parents for her to meet and the first time she ever met someone close to him was the first day she entered his home because of the cigarettes he had been anticipating for half a week. However, he was in distress about whether or not they would like him. He wasn't really the sort of man fathers wanted their daughters to be with, but he didn't quite mind that. What he wanted was just a sprinkle of their approval and he would be fine. Either way, it wasn't as if his girlfriend would leave him because of the objection of her parents. Or perhaps that was because he forgot all about parenting, and how mothers and fathers would discipline their children. It would have been a good idea if he didn't mention his daughter at the dinner.
Once that day came, he had dressed in a suit and well polished dress shoes, as black as his hair. His tattoos were well concealed, except for the one on his wrist, which would appear every so often. "I think we're late." He called out to Sophia as he slipped his watch on. "What time is it?"

Jasper brought a hesitant hand to her dress, unzipping it with atypically gentle care. His other hand turned her around, brushing his fingers along her collarbone, thin and soft. He had waited so long, which meant he could wait even more. Half parted lips pressed a kiss to her clavicle-- it was tender, full of everlasting love.
