if you're a fanfic author please don't feel pressured to update! this has been said a lot but sometimes real life gets in the way of even the most consistent update schedules and that's perfectly fine, because this is done for fun. you should never feel bad about going on hiatus. you don't have to explain yourself.

(and if you're a reader, please be respectful of writers--they put a lot of work into their work, and sometimes they just need some time to recuperate)

it’s disgusting i even have to say this, but you are not owed anything from anyone that you are not paying for a service. you are not entitled to anyone’s time or attention just because their blog is about what you’re posting. there’s a lot of things that go on behind the scenes on group oc blogs, especially oc blogs run by one person, and these members don’t owe you anything. they take an enormous amount of time out of their real life schedules of going to work, going to school, family holidays, whatever they have going on, just to help other people out because they want to. not because they were hired to. not because you deserve it. because they want to. especially as the holidays draw near, instead of whining and complaining, how about you thank all these people doing things for you because they want to? appreciate these people at blogs like @ocappreciation. thank them for the time they’re dedicating to you and then shut up. thank you for coming to my TED talk.
