What happens when you don’t read the spice bottle is you put cloves on your chicken instead of chili powder and then your house smells vaguely of Christmas and you have to put cayenne and achiote in to make the chicken taste the way you want and even after managing to correct the taste enough that it’s edible the chicken still smells vaguely of Christmas and even if nobody in your family knows because they weren’t home when the whole house smelled vaguely of Christmas and the only person you told was your little brother who was the first person inside and said it smelled and tasted fine you can still tell the chicken smells vaguely of Christmas and that’s why you should always read the spice bottle and not just use the first kind of reddish powder in a bottle with a white cap because both cloves and chili powder look like that and that’s how you end up with chicken. That smells vaguely of Christmas.
