It seemed as though Kiki had starved herself that day, though Stanislav didn’t comment on it. She seemed to be eating now at the very least.
Remaining in his seat, he allowed Kiki to partake in her meal; quite comfortable with the silence. It wasn’t until a nurse arrived wherein Stanislav gave a curt nod of acknowledgement, remaining as an observer during the nurse’s encounter with Kiki. How odd, and for a moment the vampire king thought back to Kiki’s emotional roller coaster from the previous night before; now acting as her usual self. Or rather, the self she presented.
Once alone with Kiki, Stanislav questioningly raise a brow. “I’m starting to think all you eat are sweets...” Slowly shaking his head, the vampire was about to change the conversation when Kiki began to inform him of her day--rightfully so, given he’d asked--and doing his best to ignore the compulsion to check emails and work, Stanislav forced himself to pay attention. Not that he wouldn’t in the first place, but he found himself drinking in the human’s words much more closely.
“That’s pleasant news, Miss Kiki.” He murmured. Did he feel relief? Perhaps. It was a subliminal tidal wave of comfort, though the vampire didn’t try to emphasize it. He had merely been observing a former guest of Red Rose, and an acquaintance at that.
“I’m surprised you even bothered to look at such nonsense. Mister Romanescu, or perhaps myself could have offered you insight into our kine. No need for false articles.” Crossing his arms over his chest, Stanislav leaned back into the seat.
“Unfortunately, Miss Kiki, supernaturals--and even some humans--are seen as political opinions or weapons. Though I can’t say I’m surprised. Humans have been persecuting us for years, and now we are integrating into a human-dominated society. There’s bound to be discomfort and misunderstanding; but don’t let it bother you too much. It certainly doesn’t affect me.”
Taking note of how Kiki seemed to be eating the goods he’d brought her, he was relieved. It seems the food run had been successful--but no need to get cocky.
“How does it taste? I picked various assortments, hoping you’d like something...but it seems I needn’t to have worried at all.”
“Sweets are an important part of my diet...it’s called the Kiki diet....mm I know you guys could I was playing a game with myself to see if I knew which ones were false or not! It was quite amusing” she seemed happy now that Stan was there to keep her company. However at the mention of not letting it bother her how some humans acted towards supernaturals she visibly tensed up. Her jaw clenched and the grip on her fork tightened, she remained silent for a few moments. “It would be nice if it didn’t affect me....” but just as quickly as the mood changed it switched back and she smiled as she grabbed the next item she was going to eat. She decided on some chips, something sweet and something salty. “It tastes just as delicious as the one you brought me the night we met did! For a vampire you sure do know which foods are good unlike these hospital people” she took a chip and placed it into her mouth not speaking until she swallowed. “I hate to admit it but this hospital room is ten times worse than your office, though the bed is very comfy I slept well last night....” she then remembered about her dream. “Oh yeah! I did dream of something!” She pulled out her phone. “I typed it down when I woke up so I wouldn’t forget. As amazing as dreams can be sometimes our minds for some reason can forget them rather easily. That’s why I write down all the really good dreams I have in a dream journal I have at home but since I don’t have it right now I wrote it on my phone” she tapped a few buttons to get to the notes app. “Soooo last night I dreamed that I was swimming in a pond and there were cupcakes in the water floating all around me. I was eating them while I was swimming and then a big storm cloud rolled on and sucked me and the cupcakes up.... but it wasn’t bad because the cloud was really fluffy...” she pats her hospital bed pillow “just like this pillow is very fluffy here feel it” she reaches out and gently takes his hand moving it over and pressing it against the pillow. “I imagine this would be what a cloud feels like”
