Love is not supposed to hurt! Statics have shown the 1 in every 3 women have been a victim of domestic violence by their intimate partner. This is a very touching topic for me as I have witnessed and dealt with domestic violence in my own household as a child. Not many people or friends that know me are aware of this fact. I know this though that those women being abused are not cowards but they are fearful and they are embarrassed. Fear seems to hold us back in every aspect of our life but fear is not what we were born with. Why as young kids are we fearless? Why are kids ready to try everything? If we think about this, we know fear was never there but we were conditioned to it by society on a daily basis. Conditioned in a way that fear holds us back from breaking through or trying something we may want to. These women don't ask for a beating everyday but they don't know who'll help them, who'll provide for their kids, or if someone out there is judging them negatively. So if you are someone who is being abused or someone who knows of another being abused, please be a voice for that person. Please say NO to domestic violence. There are resources out there and gentle people that are willing to help and show you the way. It won't be easy but it is an adjustment for a new life ahead that has so much to offer.
