If he (or she) wants to work smarter instead of harder, a woodworker should be proficient in arithmetic. (“Arithmetic” is an ancient Latin word meaning “numbers and stuff.”) For example, on a day like today, when the wind is coming from the northeast at 20 mph, I know that if I move my planer outside to a position about 200 feet northwest of my neighbor’s wire fence, 85% - 90% of my wood shavings will blow onto his property. Now THAT’S working smarter, ladies and gentlemen. #TheyCallMeEinstein #woodworkingtips #woodworking #dewalttough
