Boyfriend and Mom Meet

Good morning everybody!

Merry Christmas! I’m a day late, but that’s okay. It’s better late than never.

So on Sunday, my mom and boyfriend met for the first time and it’s been three months since we’ve been dating.

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend suggested that we do dinner with my mom (which I was surprised). I never and I mean NEVER had a guy who wanted to meet my mom. Of course, I asked her and she was up for it. The three of us met at a Mexican restaurant close by my house. The whole time, I was nervous because I wasn’t sure how things were going to go between the two. Surprisingly, it went really good. They just clicked and I am so relieved to know that. He did most of the talking, which was fine because I wanted my mom to see what I see in this guy. I felt as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

After dinner, my boyfriend walked my mom and me back to my car. As soon as I get in, I turn to look at mom and said, “What do you think?” She said that he was a nice guy and very sweet. She liked him better than my ex, which is always a good sign. He thought the same thing. I told him that my mom thought you were a nice guy and very sweet, a gentleman. I’m just hoping that they will meet again.

The whole time they were communicated with each other, I was so nervous that I kept my mouth shut the majority of the time. My boyfriend was the same thing. Nervous. He wanted to try to make a good first impression on my mom and afraid that she wasn’t going to like him. My mom did.

I really care about this guy and like him a lot. I can feel safe when I’m around him. I enjoy his company. We can talk and not get tired. I like him intimately. He told me one that that he desired me and wanted him, and not just in the sexual way. Just in general. I haven’t had a man like that, who wanted me and desired me. Who tells me that I am a positive impact on their life. That I make them happy.

I want to keep it that way. I’ve told him that his heart has been broken, taken for granted, and used. I know that feeling and I want to take good care of his heart. I want him to know what it feels like to be wanted, protected, and cared for.
