A Cursed, Candied Goodbye
Hi goats, TheyOfDarkness here (yeah, really old blog of mine.. I stopped using Tumblr eons ago).
I don't really care to be anonymous, I've got all my stuff archived now :)
I can only assume how many of you are feeling; betrayed, used, disgusted, anger, remorse, sadness, relief.. Whatever you may be feeling, know you're not alone. This is a lot to take in, especially around a very busy time of year (what a time to shut down the site, huh?), but please remember to take a moment for yourselves. Get up and walk around a bit, drink some water, maybe get a snack. Please be easy on yourselves.
I, myself, have been taking a bit to sit down and really ponder what all has happened. Was this to be expected? No offense, but yeah. I've been having the feeling it was going to happen, I mean, c'mon. This much drama (though warranted), there's no way it would've survived much longer, especially without accountability. I mean, coming onto this site during the last two months or so, and seeing the absolute paper trail of what all Kris had done (a lot that not even I knew about), was.. well.. a lot. I know a lot of newcomers coming in during the "maintenance" period probably didn't know a fraction of what all is here. Kudos to the mods who had to sift through everything before it was posted, ya'll are real ones (hope you're all doing good, must be stressful with all this foot traffic).
However, I do share the same worry with many other users regarding the possibility of Kris taking user submitted designs and bringing them elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, according to the TOS, I've grabbed a pic that should help qualm the worries of many, considering your consent lies with GOATLINGS, NOT Kris! You should be able to DMCA anything you made that appears on any other site she may crawl her way onto. Be sure to try and find your submission and take pictures/archive it, it'll be your secret tool that'll be useful later!

So, I implore many of you who are still able to access the site, please cherish the last week or so you get on there. Observe and save, document and download, but most importantly, spend time with your goats one last time. I'm personally quite bitter about the forums going down, as I had all my goat lore written out on them, as I assume many of you had important things written all out or commissions that existed there. Do your best to reconnect, even if Goatlings has a pretty godawful way of listing user profiles (numbers instead of names, it's the bane of my existence!). Like the maintenance page, and now one of the news posts states, we may have less time than what they say.
To my many goatfriends, I'll miss you. I cherish the people I traded with, had interactions with, had "Give Love" streaks with, did art trades with. I'll miss all of you. If any of you happen upon this lil blog, know you can find me on Toyhouse, Cara, Twitch (very rarely), Discord, and Artfight, all under the same username. If you've any questions, I'd say Toyhouse or Discord are the easiest ways to reach me. I'd love to see what ya'll transform your Cursed Candylings into :3
To that anon who asked about me 2 years or so ago, thank you for asking about me. I wasn't banned from Goatcord (at least, from what I remember), I left on my own volition due to one of the ex-mods (I think ya'll call them zoro? I remember them as 21kkn) bullying my S.O. It'd be news to me on if I got banned due to my exit message though, haha. I hope you're doing well, anon.
