In a pet caregivers' group here, the topic of pugs and other overbred dog breeds with notorious syndromes of various maladies came up. Some people got a little defensive about things. (Taking "We shouldn't have done this to them" to mean "We should kill all the pugs" because that's a totally rational jump, there.) This was all I had to contribute:
