My Bia Ending Analysis

Spoilers below (naturally):

The Bia ending was rather open and a bit confusing, which I’m sure you already know if you’ve watched it. I heard there was some debate over if it was actually Helena that saved Bia or if it was just Bia’s imagination or something, but Helena’s outfit matches from the previous scene, and Helena being the “amor verdadero” (as the fortune teller said) of Bia is consistent with the theme of the show, so to me, it’s obvious that it was Helena.

On the subject of Helena, I believe she chose Bia over Victor, not Victor over Thiago, and I think that’s really meaningful. I don’t really care who she ends up with as long as she’s by Bia’s side. To explain the scene we see with Victor at the bridge, I think that she went to see him to tell him that she had to stay for Bia, but perhaps that she also still has a lot of complicated feelings regarding him hanging around. That could explain the message to Thiago. She really doesn’t know what will happen. Victor is leaving for Spain, so maybe there will be no long-term reconciliation, but maybe there will be. Still, Thiago will always be important to her.

Victor was the best person for Helena, and Thiago was the best person for Ana, but the version of Ana/Helena that reconciles with her family is neither pre-accident Helena nor the Ana with disjunct memories of the past and too many secrets, so only time will tell how it works out. Overall, getting to see Bia and Helena singing together, both of them knowing the truth, is everything to me, and I really wish that wasn’t the end, but it works.
