i love myself even if i look like a burnt chicken nugget, i still love myself
i’ve been seeing the recipe for those thick japanese pancakes, and me being a glutton a i had to try them.
you might me wondering what’s that monster on the right, wonder no more, it’s a baby pancake. he was born because i was left with some dough and i felt bed about throwing it away, so baby pancake was the solution
——————————————
on to the recipe (for 3 pancakes)
- 2 eggs
- 10g sugar
- 15g flour
- 1g baking powder
- 10g milk
now that you’re all set with all of you ingredients, put some water on the stove and leave it there to boil, in the meantime take the egg whites, mix them with the sugar and whip the whole thing until it looks like a soft pillow.
now mix everything else (not the water), then add the whipped whites and sugar. does it look fluffy? it totally should. i have no pics of that but
this is a picture of me tasting the dough, it was really good.
now you’re all set. take a pan and it’s all downhill from here. i’m italian sono think i know everything about cooking, so i refused to use oil and decided to go with butter, i let it melt on the pan then i added some dough AND i took a spoon of that boiling water we prepared earlier, remember that? i poured that spoon around the dough on the pan and the i covered the whole thing with the lid.
i waited a couple of minutes and i turned the dough, pouring boiling water again, this was the result:
disappointing.
i thought “maybe i should have used the oil” did i use the oil for the second attempt? no.
the second attempt was slightly better. SLIGHTLY
third attempt was the best, the biggest, the THICCEST
that’s me eating the first attempt while waiting for the third to be ready
anyway, i made it i got out of the kitchen as a winner
i added too much maple syrup, whipped cream and a burnt dough baby.
FINAL REVIEW
difficulty 6/10
looks 7/10
smell 8/10
taste 8/10 but becomes a 6 by the second pancake
