Had a good reminder today
I’ve been feeling down about my art lately, just the usual slumps ya know, but today I was hanging out with a few friends and it is amazing how much one or two people can really make a difference
Sometimes you post things and it can feel like you’re talking to dead air, but that’s not true and there’s always people out there who do genuinely care and love what you do. Maybe it doesn’t show how you want it to or think it should but that doesn’t mean your work is going unappreciated
That is to say though that there is something to having the validation of hearing that your art is something that people look forward to, but to also always keep in mind that just because you don’t hear it all the time doesn’t mean it’s not there. Nobody can be there to support everything all the time, but doesn’t change that they do
Also for future slumps it good to think about how many times I’ve gone back and reread the same fics or looked at art I’ve liked because it makes me happy but I haven’t said anything for who knows what reason. I still enjoy them, I look forward to future postings, but can’t always express that. People care, and it can be hard to show that but there’s always someone out there who looks forward to what you post or have to say
