Playing Marathon. Get to the exfil. Activate it. Haven't encountered a single Runner during the whole run. Didn't want to. Been spamming "Friendly". Finally the exfil is ready. No shields. Run to the exfil. Exited to leave with all this salvage I've been needing for my upgrades. Some punk jumps off the nearby roof. I look at them. I don't take aim. I don't fire a single stray shot at them. I throw a smoke just because I'm nervous. They're rushing off the rooftop toward me and I hope I can evade them and just leave before it gets really hairy. Spamming "Friendly" still. They bound over to me with their knife out and gut me right there in the exfil ring. I haven't threatened them in any way. Afterward, as I'm spectating them, I watch them jump out of the ring so as not to take the exfil. They loot my corpse. Let me tell ya, there wasn't anything special in that loot. Green and white stuff. Mostly standard salvage for upgrades. Hope they were pleased. Cheap backstabbing f*ck.
