Truart vs Thaddeus
Can someone explain to me how Thaddeus is a weaker villain than Truart? If anything, Thaddeus is what I wanted Truart to be more like. Truart is just not that interesting and he never has been for me for all these years I have been playing Thief 2. Apart from it being mentioned that Truart was hired to kill Garrett, the two have no real history together and the two never met in person (I am struggling to remember a scene...”Blackmail” doesn’t count at all). Seriously I feel no connection or chemistry between them. Yes, Truart does arrest people for crimes that are don’t really exist - ”They’ll be arrested for Charges invented..” - Truart to Karras in Eavesdropping, but I still don’t see him as a strong enough villain. Make sense?
Thaddeus actually has a grudge against Garrett (Garrett did fuck that leg up bad), and makes it his sole quest to capture the Master Thief. Plus, Garrett is a big prize so he would hailed as a hero or at the very least, looked highly upon. I actually feel a tension between the two. Thaddeus is a complete bastard, with an obsession that he follows blindly and will latterly kill his own men of they get in the way.
